He graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Pharmacy in 1975 and from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1987. He joined the Medical Biochemistry Department of Gazi University Faculty of Medicine as an Assistant Professor. In the same department, he became an Associate Professor and later a Professor.

With the authorization of the Turkish Ministry of Health, he initiated Turkey’s first official acupuncture courses and continues to provide training in this field. He established and chaired the Traditional and Complementary Medicine Center at Gazi University.

Currently, as the president of the Ankara Acupuncture and Complementary Medicine Association, he continues his work in complementary medicine fields such as acupuncture, phytotherapy, leech therapy, cupping and hijama therapy, bioenergy, and radiesthesia.
