He graduated from Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 1984. In 1989, he published Turkey’s first magazine on alternative medicine, titled *Alternative Medicine*. He is a founding member and current board member of the Medical Hypnosis Association, established in 1991.

In 1992, he received acupuncture training at the Chinese Academy of Medicine. In 1995, he was elected to the Acupuncture High Council by the Ministry of Health and has served on various related committees of the Ministry at different times since then.

In 2005, he became an Associate Professor in *Sports Psychology*, and in 2010, a Professor in the field of *Sports and Health Sciences*. He is currently the Head of the Department of Sports and Health Sciences at Istanbul University Faculty of Sports Sciences.

He has authored two books, *Introduction to Sports Psychology* and *The Master of the Body: The Mind*, and has published articles in both national and international journals.
