Talya is an experienced English language instructor with eight years of teaching at a private university in Izmir, Türkiye. She has worked with students in the Graduate and Undergraduate Preparatory Programmes, and Vocational School at Izmir University of Economics, where she also provided IELTS training, an area of expertise and passion, under EKOSEM (Centre for Continuous Learning).
Additionally, she has experience working on online language platforms, where she coaches individuals for job interviews in English, provides speaking practice, and tailors support to whatever her learners’ needs are.
She holds a CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) and a DELTA (Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults) provided by Cambridge English and is a certified Pearson PTE Trainer. Additionally, she is a certified translator with a degree in German Translation and Interpretation from Ege University.
Throughout her career, she has worked with learners from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, including Turkish, Chinese, Polish, Russian, Italian, Spanish, Indonesian, Argentinian, and Colombian students. This experience has strengthened her ability to adapt her teaching to different learning styles and cultural contexts.
Currently, she is pursuing a Master’s degree in Digital Technologies, Communication, and Education at the University of Manchester, where she is particularly focused on the design and creation of multimedia to support learning. She is committed to leveraging educational technology to enhance language instruction and develop engaging, interactive learning experiences.
